This policy governs the website operated at www.u-pull-it.co.uk and the information practives of U-Pull-It Limited, its associated company Copart UK Limited ("Copart UK") and Copart, Inc. ("Copart") its parent corporation based in the United States of America. By providing personal information through this website and to U-Pull-It you understand and acknowledge that you are providing your personal information to each of U-Pull-It, Copart UK and Copart. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable, such as your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.
This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that U-Pull-It, Copart UK or Copart do not own or control, or to people that U-Pull-It, Copart UK or Copart do not employ or manage.
Information Collection and Use
We collect personal information when you register with us and when you use our services.
When you register with us we may ask for information such as your name, address email address, phone number, credit card information, business licence information, driving licence information, postcode, and other financial information. Once you register with us and log in to use our services, you are not anonymous to us.
We collect information about your transactions with us, including information regarding items you bid on.
We automatically receive and record information on our server logs regarding your sessions on the U-Pull-It, Copart UK and Copart website and those of their subsidiaries, and (if you have set your computer to receive cookies) related cookie information. We use information for the following general purposes: to contact you, to facilitate bidding, buying, and selling of items by you through U-Pull-It, Copart UK and/or Copart, to transfer title and owndership of items bought and sold by you, and to comply with laws and regulations related to purchases and sales of items by you through U-Pull-It, Copart UK and/or Copart.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except (i) to provide products or services you’ve requested, (ii) when we have your permission, or (iii) under the following circumstances:

The U-Pull-It web site is hosted in the United States of America. The United States has not been determined to provide adequate data protection. However, our hosting adheres to the Safe Harbor principles negotiated between the United States and the EU regarding data protection for customer data and personal data we receive when you register for our services or use our website. Accordingly, when visiting our website or providing personal data to us, we have taken steps to ensure the adequate protection of the processing of your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law.

- the transfer of your personal data to the United States as indicated above.
We may place a text file called a “cookie” in the browser files of your computer. The cookie itself does not contain personal information although it will enable us to relate your use of the Copart group websites to information that you have specifically and knowingly provided. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can’t read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other websites.
We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to our services and your account with us, including but not limited to notifications, service announcements, and administrative messages without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them (although we will obtain your consent at the time you create your account). Should you choose not to receive such communications your access to or use of our services may not be possible.
We may store your account information in our databases indefinitely following the termination of your account with us to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Confidentiality and Security
We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.

• Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
We use SSL encryption when transmitting certain kinds of information, such as financial services information or payment information. An icon resembling a padlock is displayed on the bottom of most browsers' windows during SSL transactions that involve credit cards and other forms of payment. Any time we ask you for a credit card number for payment or for verification purposes, it will be SSL encrypted. The information you provide will be stored securely on our servers. Once you choose to store or enter your credit card number, it will not be displayed back to you in its entirety when you retrieve or edit it in the future. Instead of the entire number, you will only see asterisks and either the first four digits or the last four digits of your number.
